THE Mnistry of Petroleum Resources and other agencies of the ministry has requested a total budget of N2.238.3 trilion in the 2013 fiscal year.
While the main ministry requested for N4 billion, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) asked for $13.7 billion (N2.192 trillion).
In the same vein, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulation Agency (PPPRA) wants N7 billion, while the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) requested for N34 billion.
In another development, the Group Managing Director (GMD) of NNPC, Mr Andrew Yakub as well as the Managing Directors of the three refineries in Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt, for the second day running, failed to appear before the Joint Committee of the Senate and house of Representatives on Petroleum (Downstream) on Wedneday.
They were scheduled to appear before the committee to render the account of their 2012 budgetary spendings and present their 2013 budget.
The three refineries were also to the sum of N1.3 billion proposed for the turn around maintenance of the refineries.
