We Did Not Kill Gen. Shuwa and We Still Stand on Buhari-Boko Haram

The violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, has denied that it was responsible for the death of Major Gen. Mamman Shuwa (Rtd) even as they insisted that they would only dialogue through Buhari and five others whose name they had put forward because they (Boko Haram) trust them. This was the summary of a teleconference by the sect's spokesman Abu Mohammed Abdulaziz with newsmen yesterday.
Said Abu Mohammed Abdulaziz,  “people are saying that we have hands in the killing of Major General Shuwa. We don’t have any problem with this elder statesman. He is a responsible person and he has not said anything wrong against Boko Haram sect. This is why I am stating clearly that we have no hands in the killing of this man. The same also applies to the killings of Mustapha Flawama, an associate of Sen. Modu Ali Sheriff; and other politicians and elders recently in the state.”
He also reiterated the sect's confidence in Buhari and others when he said “these are the elder statesmen and personalities that we trust and will become witnesses, in case of any betrayals on the part of government at the state and federal levels.”
It would be recalled that Shuwa, a civil war veteran, was killed on Friday November 2nd, 2012 by unknown gun men previously suspected to be members of Boko Harm.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has declared that it would not negotiate with Boko Haram with conditions. Speaking through Senator Ben Obi, the Special Adviser to the President on Inter Party Affairs, the FG said “You don’t place conditions before security agencies. If a man is a criminal and has been arrested for criminality you don’t tell people to release him, it is not their duty. You go to court and let the court release him. But they want to engage in dialogue, yes they should be engaged in dialogue not with any precondition.”
