Ebonyi Commissioner escapes assassination

ABAKALIKI—EBONYI State Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies, Elder Fred Udeogu, has escaped assassination in the hands of unknown gunmen at his hometown in Ikwo local government area of the state.
The commissioner, who escaped the attack by whiskers, had been described in various quarters as one of the powerful aides to Governor Martin Elechi since the inception of the present administration in 2007.
An eyewitness, Mr. Ifeanyi Mbam, explained that some miscreants, who laid ambush for the commissioner while he was returning from the burial of the grandmother of wife to Senator Igwe Nwagu, blocked Opera Road at Ndiagu Achara community in Ikwo LGA council in order to unleash mayhem on their victim but failed.
