Obasanjo Scores Shema High On Development

Impressed with the high level of infrastructural development of Katsina State by the state Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Shema, former President Olusegun  Obasanjo has called on other Governors to emulate his leadership style so that the lives of people will be positively affected.
Obasanjo who was in Katsina for the Annual Customs Conference, said “leadership is all about service for the development of humanity” while rating Shema high for the provision of infrastructural and social development facilities.
The facilities he said had impacted positively in promoting socio economic well- being of the people of the state.
The Former President who inspected some of the projects being undertaken by Shema in the state capital in his words, said the former PDP National Vice Chairman “did not disappoint him in the art of Governance.”
Obasanjo who was one of the important dignitaries at the Customs Comptroller Generals meeting in the Katsina State capital, said the visit provided him the window to inspect some of the projects and disclosed that he was not disappointed with what he saw on ground.
Dr. Shema took the former President to some of the  sites  of the projects within the state capital. The projects include New Government House, at Modoji, GRA, the three – lane carriage way Ring road and Orthopaedic Hospital with capacity of 250 beds space, almost completed and ready for commissioning. The hospital when opened would be expected to serve as reference hospital in terms of providing orthopedic and other specialist medicare to the people of  the state, other parts of the country and other countries.
Other projects inspected by the former President are ultra Modern Olympic size stadium also nearing completion, Barhin Housing Estate and the main auditorium  at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University which served as a venue of the annual Customs Conference and new one story buildings that dots the landscape of most of the primary schools in the state.
Obasanjo after the inspection said he was short of words to express his commendation over the purposeful leadership of  Governor Shema in terms of selfless service to humanity.
The former President described as impressive the projects especially the orthopedic hospital and other healthcare services being provided by Governor Shema led administration.
On the infrastructure at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Obasanjo described it as wise investment that could further develop the education sector and  was happy to note that all the projects inspected alongside have been tied to the resources available to the state and without borrowing from   local or international financial  institutions.
This according to Chief Obasanjo was a clear demonstration of a sincere and honest administration.
