Pension Fraud: Count Us Out Of November Payment – PRTFT

Abdullahi-Maina pensionThe Presidential Reform Pension Taskforce Team (PRTFT), yesterday asked to be counted out of the current irregularities associated with the payment of pensions in the month of November 2012 as widely alleged by pensioners  in the Head of Service of the Federation (OHCSF) office, saying the payment was made without recourse to it.
Speaking with newsmen, the spokesperson of the Task Team, Mallam Salisu Hassan,  while distancing his team from the short payment said  the process was hijacked, hence, making them  to have no hand in November and December payments.
He posited, “in view of the omissions and gross under payments of pensions in the month of November, 2012 as reported to us by the pensioners in the office of the Head of Service of the federation, the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT) wishes to distance and dissociate itself from this payment as it was made without the knowledge of the Pension Task Team”.
While describing the action as a flagrant disregard to the instruction of  President Goodluck Jonathan who directed at the Economic Management Team Meeting (NEC) held on October 23 that the PRTFT restructuring of the Head of Service  and Police Pension Offices be done to a conclusion, Hassan explained that his team had on this ground, prepared and processed the payment before the latest development.
The PRTT spokesman who disclosed that they have recovered  over N220 billion pension loots as at October 23, 2012, feared that the hijack of the payment, if not urgently addressed will lead to the resurface of  pension fraudulent activities and thus, reiterated his team’s resolve to resist looting.
