A team of security operatives has discovered several weapons
and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) making equipment at Rigaga in
Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Sources said the operation was carried out by armed team of security
operatives, comprising the police, State Security Services (SSS) and the
Army, who stormed the area and destroyed the building where weapons and
IEDs were discovered.
Barely a month ago, a team of the Nigerian Army and security agencies
demolished a bomb making factory in the same area of the state where
five suspected terrorists were killed and two others seriously injured.
This was just as weapons, which included 5 Mark 4 Riffles, 3 pump
action rifles, 20 rolls of detonating cords, 21 nine volts batteries, 2
remote switches, 1 testing metre, 5 assorted daggers and jack-knives,
and IEDs’ materials were recovered.
Confirming the incident, assistant director, Army Public Relations,
Col. Sani Usman, said the exercise took place and weapons, IEDs were
discovered with the building destroyed.
Although he said, he was not in the position to give details of the
exercise he confirmed that it was part of condone-and-search exercise to
rid the state of all forms of terrorism.
