Election Cases In Tribunal Cannot Stop Development In Ondo – Deputy Gov

The Ondo Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi yesterday said the state government is not bothered about the petitions against it before Election Petition Tribunal, adding that such cases would not stop developmental projects in the state. Speaking with newsmen in a recent spot interview, Olanusi said the cases cannot distract their attention to work for people of the state more. Action Congress of Nigeria ACN, Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Congress for Progressive Change CPC and Accord Party in the state had challenged victory of the Ondo State Governor, Dr.  Olusegun Mimiko at the Election Petition Tribunal.
They based their petitions that the last year october 20 governorship election was manipulated by Governor Mimiko. But, Olanusi described their allegations as untrue and a way to cause distraction for the present administration.
He said, “The last year governorship election in Ondo State was the best in history of any election in the state. “People of the state could testify to it. Even international observers certified it, they are just wasting their time”.
Speaking on the rumour that Dr Mimiko was planning to go back to PDP, Olanusi condemned the allegation, saying “I don’t believe in rumour. If Governor Mimiko is going to PDP, he must tell me. Up till now, there is no place Mimiko told me that he would leave Labour Party for PDP”
The deputy governor also reiterated the plans of state government to bring dividends of democracy to people of the state. “During our first term in office, we promised to work for people, which we did. We built Mega Schools, Mother and Child Hospitals, Markets and so many projects. We will continue to do more for people of the state”, he said.
