FOUR persons have lost their lives at Ohoror-Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State following fresh communal crisis that erupted in the area.
The crisis was said to have erupted between Fulani herdsmen and the villagers over grazing field on Tuesday and continued on Wednesday.
The crisis was confirmed by villagers and the police.
On Wednesday, youths of the area made bonfire, displaying bodies of the victims on the East-West road, precisely at Bomadi junction.
Traffic flow was cut off and passengers were stranded as a result.
The situation affected the convoy of the Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, together with the good governance team which was on its way to Asaba from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Nigerian Tribune which was part of the team counted three dead bodies.
Nigerian Tribune also counted two tractors set ablaze belonging to a construction firm working on part of the East-West road, few metres from the crisis point.
When the good governance team got wind of the crisis, the security team comprising the military, State Security Service (SSS) and the police, led by Captain G. Banire got combat ready, gathered and shared information on the situation before strategising for confrontation.
Adequate cover was equally provided for the minister.
The security agencies advanced and in about 30 minutes, the road was cleared.
Women and children were seen fleeing the area, screaming. It was a chaos of sort.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the security agencies, including the military moved in earlier to prevent escalation of the crisis.
