Fashola tasks pilgrims on morality

Governor-Babatunde-Fashola-360x225Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has charged Christian pilgrims for the year 2012 pilgrimage to impact meaningfully on the society.
Fashola, who was represented by Head of Service, Mr. Adesegun Ogunlewe, at a thanksgiving service organised to show gratitude to God for a successful pilgrimage, urged the pilgrims to use the experience to pray for the state, the country and their loved ones.
The event was held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Ikeja.
Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, who was represented by a director in her office, Mrs. Shade Ogunaike, commended the Ministry of Home Affairs and Culture for organising a hitch-free pilgrimage.
Guest Speaker and Chairman of the 2012 Ad Hoc Committee, Rev. Peter Adebiyi, who was represented by Rev. Dr. J.B Odofin, Head, ECWA, South-West, urged the pilgrims stand out in all spheres of life.
The service also featured testimonies by pilgrims of God’s goodness at the Holy land and since their return.
The theme of the thanksgiving service was ‘Key for Retaining the Blessings from Zion’. The Bible text was taken from Deuteronomy 6:1-12 and Luke 17:11-17.
