The Oyo State government is set to give out 100 new luxury buses to address the transportation problem in the state, governor Abiola Ajimobi has disclosed.
The governor made the disclosure while addressing the executives and
members of three transport unions – the National Union of Road Transport
Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria
(RTEAN) and the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) in
Ibadan, at the weekend.
This move, he said, would mark the beginning of gradual replacement
of all the rickety commercial vehicles currently plying the roads with
new ones under the state mass transit scheme.
