UMUAHIA—THE Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, in Abia State, has said it was working very hard to take the state in 2015.
The party said, it would offer Abia people better governance than what the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP had done.
The party’s state Chairman, Prince Emeka Okafor, spoke while addressing stakeholders of the party in Ohafia, Abia North Senatorial zone.
According to Okafor, the state was blessed with a lot of resources
which a PPA government would use to make the state greater, saying the
state had the capacity to be one of the nation’s economic giants.
He urged party faithful to go to all the nooks and crannies of the
state to tell the people that the party had come back in a big way,
saying, “tell them that 2015 elections would not be like what happened
in the last elections, but would be free and fair.”
In his remarks, a leader of the party in Ohafia, Chief Ndukwe Iko,
said the party had been re-positioned to field candidates in all
positions, pointing out that the era of rigging election results in the
state was over.
He advised stakeholders to remain steadfast and take membership drive
serious as a prelude to marching into Government House in Umuahia come
2015.
He noted: “You should not be afraid, tell everyone that PPA is back.
Orji Kalu may have left the party; it does not mean that his exit is the
end of the party. I want to tell you that we are going to be greater
this time around.”
