Abuja – Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi said Friday that the re-election of Chibuike Amaechi as  chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, was free, fair and transparent. He said that all the governors present voted  during the election.
Apparently reacting to the claims by the supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan that Jonah Jang won the election, Fayemi said, “Before they go out to address the press that they did not vote, let me tell you that all of them voted in a transparent manner and they were defeated.”
Security was tight on all the roads leading to the River State Governor’s lodge, the venue of the election.
Apart from barricading the roads to the lodge, stern-looking armed personnel of the Department of State Services, and policemen were positioned at various points as most of the governors arrived the venue of the election few minutes past the 4pm fixed for the poll.
