Former Deputy Governor in Ekiti State, Abiodun Aluko, has said the Peoples Democratic Party in the state is waiting to form the next government after the 2014 election.
Aluko, who was Ayo Fayose’s deputy, said this on Friday in an interview with journalists in Ado Ekiti.
Aluko said the high prospect of the opposition party was the reason there were, at least, 22 governorship aspirants vying for the sole ticket to represent the party in the election.
“There are so many governorship aspirants in the PDP because the party is the government-in-waiting in the state. Ekiti people are fed up with the ruling party,” he added.
Aluko, who said he was the one behind the achievement recorded during Fayose’s tenure, vowed that he would defeat all other governorship aspirants in the party because he was the most qualified for the job.
He explained that his impeachment and removal from office by the House of Assembly was challenged at the court and it was set aside.
