Rivers State Governor, Rt.Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has challenged his critics to be more constructive and transparent while criticizing the achievements of his administration.
Governor Amaechi made this call at an event held Thursday in Port Harcourt, during the First StateCouncil on Information organised by the State’s Ministry of Information and Communication with the theme : “Public Information Management as a Tool for Good Governance”.
The Governor in his address, boasted about his achievements in the state and challenged his critics to drive around the state and see for themselves what a state government can achieve in 6 years.
According to him, “Our opponents don’t like the word transparency. I think that all those people that come out and say we are not doing anything are only looking for a way of getting into the government and we will not allow them.”
The State’s helmsman also urged Rivers people and Nigerians at large to startadvocating for a free and fair election process come 2015. He stated that Nigerians have become too spiritual which as a result, has made them gullible to the pranks of politicians.
He also said Nigerians are more of a problem to the development of the country than their leaders.
