Governor Dickson set to govern Bayelsa from Abuja

GOODLUCK-JONATHAN dickson

Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson, has confirmed that he will be far away from the people who voted for him, citing ” increasing engagements and official programmes”.
Often accused for regularly abandoning the BayelsaGovernment House, sometimes for weeks, Dickson has already carried out a major renovation work at the Bayelsa Liaison Office in Abuja, in preparedness for his prolonged stay.
Already, his Chief of Staff, Chief Diekivie Ikiogha, has been delegated to headthe Abuja office.
The governor, it was gathered, spends most of his time at the Presidential Villa, ostensibly to prove his total loyalty to President Goodluck Jonathan, who ensured that he clinched gubernatorial ticket ahead of other aspirants, including Timi Alaibe and Media mogul, Ben Murray- Bruce, to mention a few.
Dickson has also confirmed that Dame (Mrs.) Didi Walson-Jack, will replace Chief Ikiogha’s, as the new Chief of Staff.
DailyPost gathered that Ikiogha is not satisfied with the new arrangement. Sources say the redeployment, may be a ploy to make him lose touch of the mainstream politics in Bayelsa.
The President’s wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, is a Permanent Secretary in the oil rich South-south state. According to her, despite her schedule, she has been carrying out her official duties from the comfort of the expansive Presidential Villa, Abuja, without a hitch.
Days after her appointment, Mrs. Jonathan said she will not collect a kobo as salary throughout her tenure.
