Unknown gunmen on Tuesday reportedly shot and killed the chairman of a local government in Kano State.
The council chairman, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, was murdered in Karkasara area of the state capital.
In recent weeks, gunmen have killed two members of the state house of
assembly and a number of civilians, soldiers and policemen in the
state.
Early this year, gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members invaded
the old campus of Bayero University, Kano and killed a number of
worshippers at a Sunday service.
Boko Haram gunmen also attacked parts of the city and killed many
people, including a Channels Television reporter, Enenche Akogwu.
