2014 campaign posters not mine – Bamidele

Mr-Opeyemi-Bamidele1-360x270The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Budget and Research, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele had denied being behind the 2014 governorship posters  which stated that he was seeking to contest the election on the platform of the Labour Party.
The lawmaker said this in a statement on Tuesday.
Bamidele’s campaign posters which suddenly appeared on the streets of some towns in Ekiti State three days ago, suggested a crack in the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria in the state.
The lawmaker who is representing Ekiti Central Constituency I at the lower legislative chamber said the pasting of the posters was a way of preempting him and to paint him as perfidious politician.”
Although, he did not state categorically that he would contest, but  the statement suggested that he might contest the governorship ticket on the platform of the ruling party.
He promised to expose those behind the posters at the right time.
The statement read, “I will like to place on record that I, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, was not responsible for the said posters. I am a founding member of the ACN and I have not declared for any other party as a member. I must emphasise that I know those who masterminded the pasting of those posters and would address the issues at the appropriate time.”
There have been rumors in the state that former Governor Niyi Adebayo may be  given the ticket of the the ruling party to contest the senatorial poll in 2015 and this will technically prevent Bamidele from either re-contesting for the House of Representatives or the Senate which he had initially sought to contest in 2011.
