Gov Yero Vows to End Attacks on Southern Kaduna Communities

The Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Yero, Tuesday declared that his administration would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the perpetrators of the frequent attacks in the southern part of the state were brought to justice.
Yero stated this when he visited the victims  of last Saturday’s attack in Aduwan village in Zagon Kataf Local Government Area where bandits invaded the village, killing five people and injuring several others.
He appealed to the people to remain calm  as the state government was doing everything to bring an end to such attacks.
Yero who commiserated with the families of those who lost their loved ones in the attack was also at St. Louis Hospital, Zonkwa, where some of the injured victims were being treated.
He said the state government would bear the cost of the treatment of all the victims and directed that those with severe injuries should be transferred to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna for further medical attention.
The governor reiterated his administration’s determination to  ensure  peaceful coexistence  among the citizens of the state, declaring however that he will deal decisively with any person or group found attempting to breach security in the state.
The governor who also visited the traditional ruler of the Bajju people, the Agwom Bajju, Nuhu Bature, commended traditional rulers in the state for the role played in ensuring peace and stability in their various domains.
Yero stressed that the state government would continue to work together with traditional and religious leaders to ensure peace and stability in the state, adding that his administration is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of the state.
In his remarks, the Agwom Bajju described the governor’s visit as reassuring and urged the state government to bring an end to the persistent attacks on rural communities in the area.
