FRSC Partners Police To Combat Crime In Delta

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Wednesday promised to collaborate with the police to combat crime in parts of the country. Mr Ford Oti, the new FRSC Sector Commandant in Delta, made the pledge in Asaba during a visit to the Police Commissioner, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba.
Oti underscored the need for close synergy among government agencies to provide effective security and fight crime in the state.
He urged the commissioner to assist the commission in the discharge of its constitutional role to enforce road traffic regulations and prevent further lose of lives and property through accidents.
“I will count on your (Police) support and cooperation whenever the need arise and will not disobey or joke with the Police Force,” he said.
The commandant hailed the cordial relationship existing between the FRSC and the Police in the state, urging for sustainability.
Responding, the Police commissioner assured the sector commander of the command’s support to free the state of crime.
Aduba described Delta as the first among other states, noting that most national events took place there.
He urged the FRSC boss to have confidence in the force while carrying out his duties.
He said that the police usually met once in a month at the state level with all the security agencies to address security issues.
Aduba also gave the assurance that the two organisations were working to secure lives and property, as well as ensure the unity of the country.
