FG Urges Nigerians To Join Hands To Build Better Nation

Vice President Namadi Sambo on Thursday in Abuja urged Nigerians to join hands with the Federal Government to build a better nation.Namadi Sambo
Sambo made the call at the launch and public presentation of two books and a poem written by Mr Isaac Sagay, the Commissioner Representing Delta in the Federal Character Commission.
The books are titled: “Studies in English and Art of Official Correspondence in the Nigerian Civil/Public Service’’ while the poem is titled: “The Sacred Flame’’.
Sambo who was represented by Dr Godknows Igali, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power said “Nigeria is a great country, everybody should join hands and make it greater’’.
Things that join us together are greater than things that can separate us, let us work together and transform our nation.
Let us focus on things that can bring development to the country and note that when our nation is transformed, we will also be the one that will enjoy it, not the foreigners.’’
According to him, those who want the downfall of this country are on the wrong side and cannot succeed.
Sambo said that the administration would continue to make steady progress in all sectors of the economy.
To this end, the Vice President said that the books would help to enhance transformation in the civil service, adding that the books were timely.
These books will be useful to the civil service, especially this time of transformation, they will help the government to build and actualise its dream of transforming the nation.’’
Sambo advised Nigerians to imbibe the culture of reading to ensure the rapid development of the nation.
Earlier, Sagay stressed the need for Nigerians to read wide in order to enhance spoken English.
I urge everybody to try and improve yourselves in the speaking of English Language as most graduates today cannot speak good English, it is amazing.
We should work hard by reading, do research, work hard and do things that will develop our knowledge and also things that can improve our intellects,’’ he said
