Buhari, Ribadu, others at Tinubu’s chieftaincy ceremony

FORMER Head of State, Gen. Mohammed Buhari on Monday led other bigwigs of his party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), to a chieftaincy ceremony in honour of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, honoured the former Lagos State governor with one of the most prestigious Egba chieftaincy titles, Aare Ago Egbaland. The event held at Oba Adedotun’s Ake Palace was part of activities to mark the Egba monarch’s seventh coronation anniversary. Tinubu’s wife, Senator Oluremi was also honoured with the Erelu Aare Ago of Egbaland.

Dignitaries at the event also included the ACN Presidential candidate at the 2011 election, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, former Lagos State Governor, Lateef Jakande, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, ACN National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor, Chief Segun Osoba, Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson.The rest were Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, former Benue State Governor, George Akume, former Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Senator Olorunmibe Mamora, Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Bisi Fayemi, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Sabitu Ikuforiji, House of Representative member, Hon. Abike Dabiri, Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and other traditional rulers.
Adedotun said Tinubu deserved the honour because among other things he had demonstrated high courage and commitment to Justice as well as an irrepressible fighter for democracy and protection of civil liberties.
