A cleric in the Anglican Communion, Ven. David
Jaiyeola, has attributed the vices currently besetting human race to
“man’s disobedience to God.”
Jayeola spoke during a sermon at the 2012 Adult
Harvest celebrations of the Cathedral Church of St. David, Kudeti,
Ibadan, on Sunday.
According to him, many people, having disobeyed God, give excuses and blame God for their mistakes.
He likened Nigeria to a mother whose child was crying for food in the face of plenty.
He said, “The situation in which the citizens of this
country cry over scarcity despite its rich natural and human resources
is sad.
“The sin of disobedience gives rise to adultery, corruption and many more.
“It is because of disobedience that God cursed human generation.”
He said the season of harvest was a time designed by God to test human’s willingness to give God from their substance.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Chairman of the Christian
Association of Nigeria, Rev. Bernard Okodua, has called for unity and
harmony among Christians and other residents of the state.
Okodua made the call at the inauguration of Lagos CAN
Central Choir and investiture of the choir’s Patrons and Patroness at
the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.
He said development could only be realised in an atmosphere of harmony.
He said, “Breakthrough and development could only be realised in an atmosphere where unity and harmony reign supreme.
