Oyo LP slams Ladoja over claim on Mimiko

Angered by the recent claim by former Oyo State governor and leader of the Accord Party (AP) in Oyo State, Alhaji Rasidi Ladoja, that Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, would soon join the party, the Oyo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has berated the Oyo former governor for  what it tagged baseless claims.
The Oyo LP described as baseless the Ladoja’s claim that the AP supported Mimiko to win the October 20 governorship election in Ondo State, advising the party to focus on the suit it filed against Governor Mimiko’s victory at the Ondo State Election Petitions Tribunal.
In a statement signed by the acting state chairman of the party, Honourable Tunde Suara, and made available to the Nigerian Tribune, the Oyo LP advised Ladoja to wake up from his day dream and stop misleading members of the public, with a view to maligning the hard-earned name of Governor Mimiko.
“The Labour Party, Oyo State chapter, advises former Governor Rashidi Ladoja to wake up from his state of stupour, in  relation to a statement credited to him, as reported  in the Nigerian Tribune at the weekend, that his Excellency,  Governor Olusegun Mimiko, will soon join  the Accord Party.
“The party reminds him that Mimiko’s re-election in Ondo State was based solely on his performance in every sector, which affected the generality of the people in Ondo State.
“We advise him not to be carried away by the pyrrhic victory his party recorded in the last election in Oyo State,” Oyo LP said.
