Reps donate 10 vehicles, 35 okadas

A lawmaker representing Emure/Gbonyin /Ekiti East Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr. Bamidele Faparusi, on Friday, donated 10 vehicles, 35 motorcycles, 35 grinding machines and others items to some people in his constituency.
The ceremony took place in Ode-Ekiti, the headquarters of Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Faparusi, who was elected on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, said youths and women needed to be well taken care of to develop the nation.
He described the high level of unemployment among the youths and lack of structured empowerment programme for women as a time bomb.
He said, “Today, youths are taking into armed robbery and other crimes as well as prostitution because of unemployment. This is why the government has to be passionate about the development of its youth population for the economy to develop, because they are the active and productive population.
“There should be interventions for them to have education, skills and leadership focus to guarantee the future of this country. That is why all my intervention programmes since election have been centred on education and skills acquisition to complement the efforts of Governor Kayode Fayemi.”
