Chapel of the Healing Cross, a protestant/ecumenical chapel of
the College of Medicine, Idi Araba, Lagos State, is set to raise N100m
endowment for the three best graduating students from the college.
Chief Resident Minister, Rev. Tunde Osho, made this known at a press
conference to herald the 50th anniversary of the interdenominational
church.
Osho said beneficiaries would be drawn from the faculties of Medical Sciences, Clinical and Dental Sciences.
He said the money which would be raised through fundraising walk and
banquet dinner would also be channelled into building of crèche for
Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
Chairman, Media Sub-Committee, Mr. Ladi Sole, added that the church
would procure cardiograph machine to be used for diagnosing heart
diseases at LUTH.
Sole said the church had as part of its corporate social
responsibility been reaching out to homes, providing material, financial
and professional support to people living with disabilities and
mentally challenged persons.
“In our total wholeness clinic, medical facility is open to our
immediate environment, especially our neighbours who are mainly Northern
Muslims,” he said.
