Father Rapes 15-Year-Old Daughter On Christmas Eve

A man who allegedly raped his teenage daughter on several occasions before threatening to shoot her with a gun claims he was assaulted by police. The 39-year-old man, whose name cannot be mentioned to protect the identity of the girl, is now before the courts on rape charges.
“I was assaulted by police officers,” he told magistrate Tendai Mahwe yesterday before being sent to remand prison.
Prosecutor Tungamirai Chakurira said the man started raping his 15-year-old daughter in December 2011.
It is alleged he arrived home during the night on December 24, 2011 and started fondling the girl’s breasts before removing her clothes. The man allegedly removed his clothes and wrestled with the girl before raping her. The court heard after the act, the man threatened to shoot the girl if she disclosed the offence.
According to state papers, the man continued raping the girl on several occasions until the matter came to light on December 5 last year. It is alleged that the teenager later informed her sister about the abuse who reported the matter to the police.
The man will be back in court for routine remand on January 16.
