Aregbesola, Omisore disagree over governance in Osun

Omisore-and-AregbesolaOsun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and a former Chairman, Senate Appropriation Committee, Chief Iyiola Omisore, have disagreed over the governance of the state.
Omisore, in an interview, had described as dismal the level of governance in Osun, adding that the Action Congress of Nigeria-led administration in the state had inflicted pains on the people.
The former lawmaker, a Peoples Democratic Party stalwart, said the Federal Government had paid for the Osogbo-Ila-Odo-Kwara road, insisting that the state government was not responsible for road construction.
But the state Bureau of Communication and Strategy, on Tuesday, described Omisore’s assertion as a tissue of lies just as the state ACN described the claim as shocking.
In separate statements by the ACN’s Director of Communication, Research and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oyetomi, and the Head, Osun Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, the state challenged Omisore to mention the contractor, which the Federal Government awarded the job.
Oyetomi quoted the Chairman, Osun ACN, Mr. Adelowo Adebiyi, as urging the people of the state not to support the governorship ambition of Omisore, saying, “People who tell bare face lies cannot be trusted in office”.
The party said, “Omisore is a symbol of PDP recklessness and arrogance during the last political dispensation. The people of Osun now know better between the ACN and the PDP.
“Osun people now know the difference between a serving government and disserving government. What did the PDP represent in the seven and a half years of its misrule in Osun but pain, anguish and recklessness?”
The statement by Okanlawon described Omisore’s claim as an “incorrigible” lie, urging the people of the state to be wary of pretentious leaders.
