Governor
of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, has affirmed that the
traditional institution does request anyone to give it a constitutional
role.
The CBN governor, who said he was speaking in his capacity as an
individual, expressed this view in Dukku Palace where he paid a visit to
the recently turbaned Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Rasheed, on Tuesday.
He pointed out that the traditional institution had over the years
established and maintained its credibility as well as respect.
He said, “I speak as member of the royal family, not as the Governor
of CBN and my personal view is that, the institution itself has
maintained its credibility, it has maintained its respect.”
