AMNESTY: NIGERIAN ARE IGNORANT OR STUPID BY CHOICE

The northern part of Nigeria is noted for frequent violence, mostly targeted against none indigene in the land, before now, things happen as uncoordinated, and emotion run wild of some angry folks, but in recent time, an organised Boko Haram emerged with an unprecedented venom, leaching terror, shedding blood, and leaving sorrow in their trails, all attempt to stop this gang prove abortive, hence the Sultan of Sokoto demanded for an amnesty for the group as a pre-requisite for peace, this was match with boiling rage of several Nigerian, hey I crave your indulgence to stop for a minute, take a break from the building tension, and assault at the Sultan of Sokoto just to check the true meaning of amnesty.
Amnesty simply means, a pardon granted for any offence against any government. That one is left to wonder whether the cabal of highly educated people assaulting the Sultan are ignorant or just choose to be stupid to fuel religio-tribal sentiment in Nigeria-while innocent bloods are shed every day- the way Nigerian had chose to abuse other words in the past, such as; deregulations, resource control, federalism, annulment, impeachment, state of emergency, national conference, equality, vacant position or acting president, among others. The elites are to blame for any further horror that happen here after, and I bet if anybody want to have the guilt on their conscience, hence urgent step like amnesty, or any workable alternative that you can proffer instead of assassinating the character of the Sultan must be taken
It is a pity that this argument has to drag on, when every Nigerian knows the government guaranty nothing, as if we don’t pay vigilante group to make up for security in our streets, as if three quarter of our youth are unemployed, while a quarter of the employed are under employed, as if we don’t pay for extramural lesson for the kids for the lapse in our school system, as if we all don’t have generators in our homes after paying PHCN bill, all this to supplement for the ineffective government of our country.
In a normal society, if the Sultan words were not understood, we should have at least asked what he meant, to clarify my point, amnesty to many Nigerian means monetary rewards, as it was in the case of the Niger Delta group, and nobody want the Boko Haram paid, I honestly will give anything that this does not happen.
But if one lives in the Northern Nigeria, and is privy to the wanton lost of lives and properties, and privy to the kind of cabal involved with the Boko Haram, and privy to the federal government inability to handle cabal of any kind, be it in oil sector, assassins, or looting of treasury, and in the final analysis, if one is privy to the futile and wasted resources lavish on the fight against Boko haram, one can only call for an amnesty, not the kind where the Boko haram will be paid, rather a type where the group will be pardon for laying down of arms, where they will be assured that they will not face charge of treason, at least for the sake of peace in Nigeria.
