A
Lagos High Court, Lagos on Tuesday ordered the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission to release the travelling documents of Alex Okoh
standing trial along with Chairman, Bi-Courtney Highway Services, Dr.
Wale Babalakin.
The order came five days after the presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi
Onigbanjo, released Babalakin’s passports for him to travel to South
Africa to treat hypertension and other undisclosed ailment.
Onigbanjo granted a similar application by Okoh on Tuesday to enable him to travel to the United Kingdom for medical check up between March 6 and 19.
Earlier before ordering the release of Okoh’s application, the judge
said his application was not sufficient to grant the prayer.
Onigbanjo however, acceded to the pleading by the defence counsel, Mr.
Olaniran Obele, who promised to file evidence of Okoh’s prior medical appointment with an undisclosed hospital in the UK.
