National
Leader of the Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has urged the
Federal Government to handle the issue of Boko Haram and other violent
groups with sincerity.
Ladoja, who spoke in Ado Ekiti at a briefing on Thursday, noted
particularly that violence associated with Boko Haram was dragging and
needed to be tackled with sincerity.
He spoke after inaugurating the party’s secretariat in the three senatorial districts in the state.
He advised the FG to dialogue with the groups, saying the nation had lost many lives and property due to the protracted crisis.
He said, “If they (Boko Haram member) see sincerity on the part of
the Federal Government, they will come out. So the government has to
show that it is sincere and I believe the problem will be solved.”
Ladoja, who denied seeking to be secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, said he was not even a member of the PDP.
He said, “I am not gunning for any position in the PDP. I am not a
member of the PDP. In fact, we have taken over PDP offices in at least
six local government areas in Oyo State. We have changed the colour of
the offices to Accord Party’s colour.”
