My Son Has Right To Contest Adamawa Guber Seat – Tukur

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur yesterday said there was no crime in his son aspiring to the office of the governor of his home state, Adamawa.
This is even as he described the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram as “evil”, pointing out that Nigerians need to join hands with government to end the menace posed by the sect.
Speaking in Abuja, the PDP boss explained that it was wrong for people to insinuate that it was morally wrong for his son to be interested in the state’s job, pointing out that anybody who is qualified to any office had the right to aspire to such an office, irrespective of whether the person is “Dr. Bamanga Tukur’s son or not”.
“My son was in politics before I became the chairman of PDP.  He was in the House of Representatives before I became the chairman.  I leave my son to be what he wants to be.
“Remember he had aspired to the office before now, so, it is not an office he just woke up and began to nurse the ambition to hold. I cheer him up; if he is looking for leadership, why not?” he said.
