The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Bala Mohammed, on Thursday said the FCT Administration will allocate a befitting plot of land in Abuja for theNigerian Television Authority, NTA, to build its headquarters.
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule, the minister while receiving the Director General of NTA, Musa Maiyaki, and his team, gave this assurance. He also stated that the present land occupied by the organization was not earmarked in the Abuja Master Plan as its headquarters but for NTA Channel 5 and therefore not befitting for a premiere television station like NTA.
“The FCT Administration will allocate a prime, suitable and befitting plot of land for the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, to build its new headquarters in the Federal Capital City, Abuja,” Mr. Mohammed said
Mr. Mohammed commended the television station and instructed that the Directors of Urban and Regional Planning and Land Administration should identify a befitting place for the NTA Headquarters within two weeks.
“I am personally happy to be part of Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, transformation because NTA is an organization that has sacrificed so much for the nation. The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, must be supported to continue to serve the country,” he said
In appreciation of the minister’s instruction, Mr. Maiyaki thanked him for his uncommon sacrifice and contribution to NTA especially the complete overhaul of NTA Channel 5 by the Abuja administration.
