UPDATE: Injured Governor Wada may have lost a leg

Governor Idris Wada of the Nigerian central state of Kogi, who was involved in a ghastly motor accident Friday, may have lost one of his legs, Premium Times reported, quoting a source close to the Specialist Hospital, where the governor was treated initially.

Governor Wada, whose ADC died in the accident, had since been flown to Abuja and admitted at The National Hospital, according to the online news portal.
Doctors at the Lokoja Specialist Hospital where Mr. Wada received first aid treatment said his leg is “totally broken,” Premium Times said.
The governor was brought into the intensive care unit with a severely fractured femur according to the doctors, added that they said he is in good condition and did not sustain major head or spinal cord injuries.
“There is hope,” he said.
