Lagos – In a bid to keep Nigerians informed on the nation’s
centenary celebration, the Nigeria Centenary Secretariat (NCS), on
Friday said it had officially launched its portal and social media
platform.
The Secretary of the Centenary, Mrs Angela Nmoh, said that the portal
was to give Nigerians an insight into activities lined up for the
celebration on Jan. 1, 2014.
In a statement, Nmoh said the launched portal included

“Visitors to the social media platforms will also get to understand
the essence of the centenary celebration and the Centenary City Project,
which will create thousands of jobs.
“Nigerians will also be able to keep abreast of updates on all upcoming events, as well as share insights and opinions that will make the project successful.’’
She said that the theme of the centenary celebration was “One
Nigeria, Great Promise’’, adding that its theme “is designed around the
key concepts of unity and promise of the Nigeria Federation.“
According to her, Nigeria’s centenary year offers a unique
opportunity for focusing global attention on the country, her history,
peoples, achievements and aspirations. (NAN)
