Obasanjo Loyalists Join Plot To Oust Bamanga Tukur

There are strong indications that loyalists of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo may have perfected plans to finally remove Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following their meetings held at Obasanjo’s palatial home in Abeokuta. An inside source said that all the sacked national executives of the party, including former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Ekiti State Governor Segun Oni and Bode Mustapha were at the meeting.
Though the meeting was held behind closed doors, our source said that the group’s main discussion was on how to compel the PDP chairman to call for the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting or risk a backlash from the group.
LEADERSHIP authoritatively gathered that the sacked state executives of the party had petitioned the party’s  NEC on their recent sack by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
At yesterday meeting, former national vice chairman, South West, Mr. Segun Oni, who led the delegation, was spotted by newsmen at about 4:30pm being driven out of the palatial compound.
The group, which is loyal to Obasanjo, had all its elected officers of the party in the South West removed by a court ruling, which nullified their elections. It also affected the Ogun State executive, which had the backing of Obasanjo.
The new Bayo Dayo-led executive had promised to reach out to Obasanjo in order to reconcile all the warring sides.
