Action Congress of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, has called on
the Inspector General of Police to investigate the killing of the guard
of an Accord Party member and former Secretary to the State Government,
Mr. Ayodele Adigun.
The party made this known in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dauda Kolawole.
According to the party, the call for an investigation became
necessary so as to forestall the possibility of some people, who are
“renowned for turning every issue into a political advantage from
getting away with the murder of the hapless night guard. It said the
guard was probably sacrificed for political propaganda sake.”
ACN said, “For close
to two years now, after the exit of PDP politicians who ruled the state
for eight years and whose regime was renowned for spillage of blood and
daylight murder of political opponents, Oyo State has witnessed peace
and tranquility.
“We need to invite the Inspector General to our state to investigate this murder. We must get to the roots of this murder of the night guard.
“Seeing that in the last two years or thereabout, there has been
unprecedented peace and quietness in our state, we cannot rule out the
fact that they may have martyred that hapless night guard to pollute our
river of peace in order to score a point that we are not different from
them. This should be a great lead for the police investigators.”
