Lam, crusader of democracy —YUF

Foremost Yoruba socio-cultural group, the Yoruba Unity Forum, has described the former Alliance for Democracy (AD) governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, as “an unapologetic crusader of democracy.”
It stated this in a condolence letter signed for and on behalf of its Chairman, Yeye Oodua, Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo, by Senator Femi Okurounmu. While expressing shock at his demise, it eulogised him as “an unrelenting Awoist all his life, adding that “his contribution to  the dismantling of military dictatorship and the restoration of democracy in Nigeria in 1999 can never be forgotten.” It prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Similarly, an Ibadan-based social club, Omo Aj’orosun Club, has joined other sympathisers in the state in mourning the death of the late Adesina.
While describing him as an indefatigable and unassuming governor, it prayed God to “grant us the fortitude to bear the loss.
