Gunmen Kill Police Officer, Prison Warder

Gunmen on Friday evening killed a police constable and prison warder in their residences located along Oil Amery Barrack Road in Potiskum, Yobe State. Our correspondent who was at the scene reported that the assailants stormed the officers’ residences around 8;27pm and shot them at a close range.
Those who spoke to SUNDAY LEADERSHIP said that shortly after they were killed, the assailants fled. A resident in the area, Musa Tanko, said that the officers went to one of the shops near his house to buy some food items; while the killers waited for their arrival they shot them at close range and fled the area immediately.
According to him, the remains of the officers were later conveyed to the Potiskum General Hospital at around 9;34pm
While confirming the incident to Sunday Leadership, Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Sunusi Ahmed Rufa’i said,  ‘‘as I am talking to you now, I have received information about the gunmen that killed my officers; a constable and a prison warder in their personal houses.
He said that “ yes i am aware a police constable and prison warder were killed, but i cannot give you full details of the story now.  We are investigating on the matter; they killed them inside their house. No any arrest was made during the incident, but investigation is on progress.
