But for the timely intervention of some residents in Life Camp
Extension, a University of Abuja student would have been raped by a
tricycle driver popularly called Keke NAPEP.
The incident happened on Thursday evening around 9 pm at life camp
extension, under Gwarinpa District of the federal capital territory.
The lady
(name withheld) who on her way to visit a friend in the area, entered
Keke however due to the darkness in the area that night, she couldn’t
locate the way to where she was going. Having gone round the lonely area
in darkness without finding her way, the Keke attempted raping her.
The helpless student who couldn’t fight off the Keke driver called
out for help and her shouts attracted some of the residents in the area
who came to her rescue.
